From Syria to Toronto
This is Tareq and Nour, two Syrian refugees needing your help to reach safety of Canada!
We are collecting funds to sponsor my two friends-very talented Syrian couple-who are currently seeking asylum in Canada.
They are both active volunteers at refugee camps helping traumatized people through art and music. They would be a great support of the refugee community here in Canada. They are struggling with money and have no promising future where they are at.
We need financial support from all of our friends, family and good people around the globe.
We need to reach a financial goal in order to start the sponsoring process, please kindly donate what you can on this gofundme page, and share this post to help bringing them to the safety of Canada as soon as possible. Thank you.
A refugee couple will require $21,200 to live in Canada for 12 months. As a sponsor, we are responsible for their living expenses for the initial year of their lives in Canada.
Without further rambling, here is their story:
"Please Help Us!!!
Tareq: "My family and I used to live happily in Syria; My father died in 1992 because of a medical mistake, so my mother has been taking care of us (my sister, my two brothers and I) since then..."
..."Our home was located in Harasta... On 2011 my home got bombed by the regime forces , so we had to evacuate suddenly... in a day - under fire , in the shadows of tanks and bombing every corner , we managed to escape from Harasta...a sniper almost hit me when I was helping my mom moving her lockage that day... My family and I had to relocate to Damascus, we had to be separated , my mom with her family and I as a male I had to sleep over my friends houses..."
"I make music to forget about the misery I’m living in, and I also found comfort helping children in shelters around Damascus - I used to teach them music and play for them... On 2012 I met Nour in Syria , and we fell in love; We have comforted each other and help each others during the darkest times..."
..."Nour and I heard that Canadians are welcoming and open minded people that will not treat us as unwanted members of society, but as humans... which is why we want go there... I want to be a productive member in society...
Nour: "I come from a middle class family from Syria. My two sisters and I were raised by my mom; My dad abandoned the family when I was 10 years old, so my mom took care of us and educated us to be independent and strong women... I had my first job when I was 18 - after I graduated from accounting school - that is when I started helping my mother to support my family..."
..."I had a nice job as an assistant, and I was making a good living; I never thought that we would ever have to leave Syria, we were so happy back then..."
..."In 2011 war erupted, our city we used to live in became a sheltering center for lots who lost their homes... I volunteered to help children traumatized by war in schools around Damascus...we were supporting them psychologically with games and arts ..."
..."I learned music and rhythm methods - the first instrument I learned to play was the drums. On my birthday in 2012 Tarek gave me a “Cajon” he had , as a birthday gift. I currently play with Tarek as a musician... This is the only way we could keep supporting our families back in Syria ..."
..." The war in Syria took a lot from us, but we will not lose hope... We want other Syrians to know that there is hope... We didn’t mean to make you sad or depressed , but we want to be honest and give you nothing more than a small glance of our story, hoping that you can help us..."

We are still going to use Lifelinesyria.ca for support and guidance and to help Tarek and Nour.
Many of our friends have volunteered to provide us with household items, beds, clothes and furniture.
We need your help. Please donate and share this gofundme account with everyone that you think will want to help us. We would appreciate anything you have to give, no amount is too small to help.
Let's do something EXTRAORDINARY, something that would COMPLETELY CHANGE the lives of these people forever - THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO CREATE A BETTER WORLD FOR HUMANITY!!
The sooner we are able to raise this money, the sooner Tarek and Nour will be able to come to the safety of Canada and be welcomed into the Toronto community.
Thank you for your generosity and God bless you ALL!
