Project Lifesaver Beaver Dam

Donation protected
The Beaver Dam Police Department is looking to raise funds for Project Lifesaver (PLS). PLS is a program to assist in locating individuals who are at risk to wander. This could range from children who have autism to the elderly who suffer from dementia.

The individuals in the program wear a transmitter which is similiar to a wrist watch. If they wander off they can be tracked by individuals at the Police Department who will be trained to locate them using a receiver. The goal is to have enough Officers trained in using PLS that one will be on 24/7 in the event the program is needed.

The average recovery time for someone that wanders on Project Lifesaver is 30 minutes which is 95% quicker recovery rate than someone who is not in PLS. To date PLS is credited with 3,351 saves. If we are able to implement this program and save one life it would be well worth it.

The goal is to raise $10,000 which will go towards training and equipment. This will also allow us to have extra funds to waive the monthly fee for families that might not be able to afford the fee to change out the transmitter.

We thank you in advance for any donation that you are able to make. Your donation will give piece of mind to families that have a loved one that is at risk of wandering and will benefit from PLS.
