Project Haiti: Rebuilding 3 Homes

Donation protected
My name is Miranda Marques. As many of you know, the island of Haiti was hit by Hurricane Matthew, which caused incredible devastation. This is a matter very close to my heart because I am Haitian; my father Jacques Vielot is in the country now working on whatever relief efforts he can.

The estimated loss exceeds 50% of the country's agricultural production, in addition to the disappearance of entire small cities, together with their infrastructure. There are no longer any birds left,  few trees standing, and only a small percentage of large animals survived in five of the ten departments of the country.

There is very little we can do as individuals to help, so we are focusing on  collecting as much clothing and tools as possible, and starting by attempting to fix three homes  of our relatives with collapsed corrugated roofs in the village of Angibeau, Haiti.

100% of anything collected will go toward:
1)  The cost of fixing these homes  &
2)  The cost of shipping a tremendous amount of clothing and tools that we are collecting.

We are shipping clothing and supplies to Haiti from Grand Rapids, Michigan via the organization  "RAYS OF HOPE". The larger construction items will be purchased from a big box retailer in Miami and shipped to Haiti.

Time is of the essence. We  hope to reach our goal within a few weeks so that we can get started. I will be updating the campaign with pictures as frequently as possible. Please share our campaign and donate anything that you can, a small or large as you feel comfortable with.  Anything helps. Thank you for your consideration!
