Hi. My name is Amir Samani, Today I write this for the communities and those who are asking the right questions and see the problems even if those problems are not affecting them directly.
please read and walk with me so I can share my testimony with you even if you don't plan to support me in my way but sharing the matter is also a big help.
Who am I?
I'm an artist, a philosophy teacher and scholar in anthropology and social psychology but before anything a political refugee from Iran! A helpless child of an activist who also died in the hands of a bloodthirsty Government.
How I got Here?
as the result of 2009 "green movement" the Islamic regime of Iran started the arrest the first line of protestors in the streets by murdering the innocents in public, after that those who advocated any opposition and within a year or two time was up also for schools and universities and those who can open the eyes of public. As the system is more scared, the circle of enemies is closer to the general public to the point that what you think as an individual is marked dangerous to the existence of the system. So it was time for us, the students and artists and free thinkers! After being held in prison for over 2 years for my works as an educator, artist, and activist I managed to use my last chance of freedom and beat the system and run with the hope that I might just survive! what I saw in my time was the testimony of evil, the demonstration of the collapse of hope! each time I heard a scream I got closer to believing that justice and fairness have lost the battle to those who are running our societies with their pathological idea of how to control people just to stay in power and no power could stand against them! we were forgotten simply we were just numbers with no way to be heard or to be given a fair hearing! I saw the effect of their policy on each brother and sister in prison, physical punishment, rape, group shaming with disgusting and highly graphic sexual methods, continues disrespect, isolation, group identity tactics.
how my social work and my goal started:
In prison, I started working alongside some others to help those who as the result of what is happening to them is beginning to be mentally unstable or had major depression and were suffering from suicidal thoughts or were highly traumatized. They thought the best way to beat the system is to kill themselves so they are not able to enjoy seeing them suffer. very fast I began to understand that I can use my knowledge to help others and start a resistance in prison, so every day to the best of my ability I sat down and talked with many of them and tried to help those in need.
EU and being a refugee:
I never thought I will be free one day again and I don't still believe how i am here today but once I was free I knew exactly what I want and what I have to do! after a year of pain and agony on the way to a safe place, I arrived in Greece and I started working as a translator for No border doctors and No border kitchen ( NBK ) and lawyers and whoever I could. soon I found some connections and I started to work as a music teacher. I got the opportunity to leave and come to Austria and start here to work as an educator and a free artist but the problems were just beginning!
why I started my program and film projects?
it is over two years now I live here in Austria but when I got here I faced an unbelievable system and because of the mistreatment by Austrian authorities and the condition of an extremely remote place and the law which makes it illegal for you to leave your place. According to my doctors my trauma came back and I had to struggle and go through a very horrible time and truly clashed with my personal life and mental health issues for a long time I was diagnosed with PTSD and Complex Depression but with the Help of many great characters and loving friends I manage to fight it and overcome the suffering and now I started a social psychological experiment program for those who are not privileged as I am to be able to cure themselves and have their lives back I started making film projects as well to document the truth about isolation and mental health issues which easily caused from ignorance of government politics.

what do we do and what is our goal?
my social psychological program is invented to study and help those in stress and or in need of help by trying to study the process of deindividualization and isolation, group identity and group behavior and the power of government policies on negatively influencing the vulnerable individuals. we do this to make it possible for people who experience mental distress to live their full lives and play their whole part in society and also to stand up and speak out on the real issues that affect their daily lives. It also will challenge and restructure our strategy and the way that we face a social crisis, such as refugees' struggles in the time that they have to carry the unbearable weight of isolation and identity crisis through depression and trauma.
what we need money for?
In order to continue our fight against the powerful circumstances that are created from governments false decisions and wrong political ideas, we need to be able to found the project and production of documentaries,
for that our cost list will be:
cost of transportation to camps (as they are mostly in the countryside) for 1month and one person: 200 €
food and daily cares: 200 €
Editing process and filming (including the cost for a computer system): 2000 €
as we pay for food and necessary payment such as medical situations as much as we have more support, the more people can participate.
this chance is a great opportunity for us to stay stronger in our way and without your help, the failure of this project is very likely.
