Professional Golfing Career

Started with a Dream:

Ever Since I was a kid, there was one thing that I would hope to dream to become, a professional golfer that plays on the PGA Tour. You can dream about it and talk about it, but it's different when you actually get a chance to achieve it. I have been around golf all of my life growing up around the game with First Tee, playing with the best junior and professional golfers in America from high school and the collegiate level, and teaching kids and adults how to play and how to act around the course. I want to grow this wonderful game and play it as well. I have the opportunity of a lifetime and I going to need your help to take me there to the next level.

My name is Joseph Stills. I grew up in the city of Pensacola, where I played high school golf at Pensacola Catholic High School, and at the collegiate level at UWF. I finished my degree at UWF in MIS, Management Information Systems, with a 3.52 GPA and proceeded to take graduate courses until May of 2018.

Here's where the money is needed. As you are aware, golf is an expensive sport and needs a lot of capital to play let alone play as a professional golfer. The road to the PGA Tour takes sponsorship and help from people you know, local sponsors, friends, family, and many more.

Schedule of Events:

Professional golf tournaments are located all throughout the country. Since golf is dependent on good weather, ie. warm and sunny, the actual tournaments can vary where tournaments can take place. So there are competitions in basically every state especially in the Florida, California, and Texas during the winter months. In the Fall, Summer, and Spring months, tournaments are located everywhere in the United States. But not only are tournaments located in the United States but tournaments are located throughout the globe in Asia (Thailand, Singapore, Japan, China), South America (Argentina, Columbia, Peru, Chile), Latin America (Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Trinidad,  Dominican Republic), Europe (UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany), and many more.

Professional golf tournaments also vary by tour and stage:

The path to the PGA Tour is the most popular route for professional golfers. It either takes two routes either by Monday Qualifying or throughout the route of PGA Tour's "sub tours" (ie. PGA Tour Latin America, Korn Ferry Tour, Mackenzie Tour in Canada, PGA Tour China Series). Monday Qualifying consists of 300 players that compete in two sets of qualifying, and play for one or two spots that are open in the PGA Tour events that you see on TV. They are expensive to play. Both qualifying stages can consists of a price tag of $500 or more and the competition is fierce. In terms of making it threw the "subtours" and professional golfer will play in a 6-8 round qualifying school with pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds included. Hundreds of players will compete in a series of rounds and the Top 50 of that qualifying school will gain exemption into that tour for the year where the player can prove himself win a couple of events and make it to the PGA Tour that next season.  Entries for this route can be upwards of $2000 per qualifying school. Lastly, there is the route of mini tours where people can pay way less in local professional events where entry fees are between $100-1000. The competition is good and the payout can be good as well with winnings up to 10,000 or more. There are dozens upon dozens of mini tours around the south and the west especially  Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California. These earnings can be a way for a professional to make money that he needs to continue playing golf and get the reps needed to play in the bigger events for the subtours or the PGA Tour Events. So there are many routes that someone can take to play professionally.

The Plan:

I want to play professionally for the rest of my life. To play in these events I'm going to need as much help as possible to play in these events and prove my myself. To play in these events throughout the country, I need a lot of capital up front. I have calculated this to be at least $10,000 for the upcoming year from August 2019-August 2020. Each tournament consist of multiple aspects of what the money is going to be used, shown below:

-Entry Fees:
     Consist between $100 - $2000
-Travel:
Can vary by mode of transportation
     Car is least expensive
          Consist between $100-500
     Air is most expensive
          Consist between $200-2000
-Food & Accommodation:
Can vary for long the tournament ranges
           Consists between $200-1000

So I'm gonna need your help. Every penny helps tremendously. I will keep any person's donation in record so hopefully one day I will pay them back in full with the gratitude that they were able to help me achieve my dream.

Also, I have a website set-up for more info about myself, my golf tournaments, social media, business relations, and much more. It is up and running and contains everything you need to know about me and what’s there to come. I constantly update this website and will keep you informed on my social media as well on my progress.
