Teaching Professional Development in Cuba

Hi, my name is Julie Moriarty and I am a middle school teacher in Hartford, CT. This summer, I have been offered a very unique opportunity through my college to travel to Cuba. I will travel with other teachers to learn about Cuban schools, arts and culture and to bring what I learn back to my US students! What makes this opportunity so great is the focus on education. It is a chance to learn and share with the American teachers I will travel with as well as Cuban students and teachers I will meet. I am very proud to be invited! I am so, so excited. Those of you who know me well, know that I continuously talk about my Peace Corp experience in West Africa, and now is a chance to add to that experience. Children always love to learn about other children, and this trip gives me a chance to share between two groups of kids; my American students and Cuban students in Havana.  But this all depends on money. It costs $4,000 all inclusive (flight, food, hotel, and a trip outside Havana) and I can't afford that.  Please , if you can, help me with this unique  experience.  :)  Thank you!
