Emergency Aid for Puerto Rico

Donation protected
Puerto Rico still needs your help! Don’t just believe what you see on the national media! We see people everyday who have received no aid at all from the government or other aid groups.

How are we different?

The Puerto Rico Legal Project is a non-profit legal clinic (www.prlegalproject.org) dedicated to providing free and discounted legal services to the people of Puerto Rico. After Hurricane Maria we set up a campaign to supply food and water for the communities not receiving enough governmental or NGO help. We accompany EVERY delivery of goods to make sure they get to where they are needed most.

We are running low on funds and need help now! Please see us on Facebook at Puerto Rico Legal Project to see and share our story. No amount of donation is to small or too great. There are 100s of thousands of people who still are without the necessities of food and water.

If you have further questions about our project and to help you understand our efforts here are news interviews we have done Talking about what we are doing for the Puerto Rican people, and the importance of supporting more smaller homegrown organizations with NO OVERHEAD overhead like ours where all of the money goes to providing aid.

Last week we were also featured on CNN Money:

We go where no one else will go, we travel roads that seem impassible and we get to the people who need our help most, BUT, we can not continue to do this without your help.

I dont know how long I will be able to continue to use my own money, raise money and how many more donations we will receive. But what I do know is that with every ounce of energy we have we will continue serve.

Why do I know this?

This story from Saturday defines what this project means to me.An older man I met In Corozal by chance as I was using his driveway waiting for some volunteers came to me and asked what I was doing.I told him we were delivering food and water to Corozal. He asked “Why, Are you from Puerto Rico?”, I replied “no” ”Are your parents or grandparents from Puerto Rico?” “no”.He asked then why I was here doing this, I asked him for a hug and said “Because All of Puerto Rico is part of my family”

It is with that heart we will continue to serve with our project, humbled by blessings we have and The help we receive. Pray for Puerto Rico, they are you family too.

Again 100% of the funds raised from this campaign will go to this effort (Minus the fees charged by gofundme.com).

Thank you so much for your consideration and your help!
