Prizefighter Staff Covid19 Relief Fund
Hello beautiful Prizefighter patrons! We miss you! Dylan, Jon, and Polly (aka, the owners of the bar), are trying to raise some much needed funds for our staff who find themselves out of work due to the Covid-19 crisis. Having a drink at home with your roommate or partner? Or with friends via Skype/Zoom/Facetime? Consider chipping in a few bucks to the bartenders who would have made your drink for you if we were open! Every little bit helps. 100% of funds gathered from this campaign will go to our staff to help them pay their bills. That's right! We're not taking a dime. The money will be distributed to the staff based on individual need and hours of work lost. We're hoping to make a payment at the end of the month when they would have received their paychecks.
For those who are able to share a little more, we would like to offer some special experiences for you once we all get through this and are able to gather again. Anyone who donates $500 or more, please email [email redacted] for more information. Of course the timing of these experiences will be dictated by our ability to gather in groups moving forward. Each experience below is about 2 hours and for groups of up to 6 people. We'll bring all the bottles/tools/ice etc. These experiences will be led by one or both of our founders, Jon Santer and Dylan O'Brien.
- Guided Mezcal Tasting: Rare bottles, many of which are not available outside of Mexico will be poured and discussed. Methods of production, regional differences, odd flavors, delicious spirits. This is our wheelhouse.
- Guided Bourbon/American Whiskey Tasting: Rare and allocated bottles will be shared. The colorful history of our national spirit will be laid out for you. We might even pour something that rhymes with "Slappy Can Sprinkle"?!?!
- Scotch. Scotchy Scotch Scotch. A guided tasting and lesson. We'll cover the basics like regions, production methods, etc. We'll also take a deeper dive into history, contemporary Scotch politics, and what to look for when tasting and collecting. Didn't know there were "contemporary Scotch politics"? Then this one is for you!
- Cocktail Making 101 and 102 - Learn how to make cocktails properly at your home, just like your favorite bartenders at Prizefighter. Do you already know a little bit? How about an intermediate class to sharpen your skills and learn some different techniques? We can tailor this to whatever your interests are.
We are also well aware that many others are struggling and asking for help. Do what you can, where you can. Thank you again. We can't wait to see you at the bar.
