My name is Sapphire Persinger, some of you may know me as Princess. You’ve followed my educational achievements, modeling accomplishments and community leader over the past few years you know: I’m a daughter, a sister, a student, a scholar, a model, a community leader, a cheerleader, a pageant princess and soon to be high school graduate. I recently celebrated my 17th birthday, I’m Diné, Navajo, Native American and I’m from beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico.
My ambitions are to study medicine and become a pediatric doctor. This month, I will be graduating my high school with honors. Through this past academic school year, I’ve completed a combination of both undergrad and pre-med courses at the University of New Mexico along with my high school curriculum.
Over the past few months I’ve been submitting my college applications and I’ve received many fantastic offers from many Colleges and Universities around the United States and abroad. I would like to continue my undergrad and pre-med education in Biology Science and Medical at a private University. One year of college tuition and expenses runs approximately $32,000. Over the course of years of hard work and saving for my expected tuition, fees, room, board, books and transportation, there are still many unexpected expenses that come along. The grants and scholarships I’ve received have helped tremendously, although I am in need of additional support.
I’d like to humbly request any contributions to off set the cost of my educational expenses through personal contribution, scholarship or grant will be greatly appreciated. With the help and encouragement of all my friends and family and through this fundraising efforts, I promise to continue to be positive, kind, and confident; for the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams, ambitions, hard work and goals. My Mom taught me to lead with confidence and respect in order to achieve success.
I will continue to work hard in achieving my goals and to be a positive role model and success for woman, New Mexicans, our Native communities and youth. I will continue to make you PROUD.
