On June 25th, 2018 Paris had woken up with a bad headache and neck pains, thinking that it could be from her sleeping wrong we gave her Tylenol for the pain. A week had gone by and off and on the headache and neck pain kept coming back this time followed by vomiting. On the 4th of July we had took Paris to the emergency room they check her vitals and take samples from her and everything comes back negative. The doctors decide to order an X-ray of her stomach, they said she had a large stool blockage and that causes neck pain, headaches, and vomiting. They send us home with medicine and wait for it to pass. Paris had on and off days, couple days at a time she was able to hold down food and her headache would slowly go away. On July 18th we take her back to the emergency room her headaches and vomiting kept getting worse, again doctors order and X-ray for her stomach even though everything came back negative they said the same thing before stool blockage. We go home and things start to look up for Paris for a about a week. On July 28th Paris’s 7th birthday we go back to the emergency room because she woke up vomiting and her head and neck was in excruciating pain. Doctors are struggling to figure out what possibly could be wrong. Finally a doctor comes and suggest we call her pediatrician on Monday because it was a Saturday and her pediatrician could want more in depth tests done. On July 30th we go in to see her pediatrician and right away she notice Paris balance was off. She asked Paris to do a few tests for her and the doctor looked and me and said, “I want to send her for an MRI today.” I just look and say “OK”. We had an MRI appointment for 6:30 that night leaving the pediatricians office. We go in and get the MRI done and head home, forty-five mins after we leave I get a phone call from her pediatrician stating that she went over the MRI with the radiologist and we should come to the emergency room and pack a bag because she is going to transfer us to another hospital. Panicking because she couldn’t say much over the phone we rush over to the emergency and get her checked in and when they take us to the back and get Paris set us the pediatrician comes and says she wants to talk to us in another room. We sit down and she states that they found a mass on the back of her brain. Our hearts immediately fall into our stomach. She proceeds to tell us that she wants to transfer us to the children’s hospital in Atlanta because they have the best neurologists there. She couldn’t tell us too much about the mass because that wasn’t her speciality. We get transported to Atlanta where she was in pediatric intensive care. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor called Ependymoma she also had cerebral spinal fluid build up in her brain and had to have a drain put in before she could get surgery our baby girl went into surgery Thursday morning August 2nd after a long 8 hrs in surgery we received news that they got all the tumor Praise GOD, The tumor was on her brain stem which effects certain functions of her body she has to go through physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy and since the tumor is cancerous she will have to go through radiation therapy and chemotherapy to prevent it from coming back. It’s a long road to recovery but our baby is strong and a fighter. We just ask everyone to continue to pray for her and our family and we go down this new path in life. Thank you every who has prayed and is praying for us we definitely feel all the prayers ❤️ The Eberharts
