Preserve Justice Education
Tax deductible
A small group of interested citizens formed the Maricopa County Justice Museum and Learning Center, a 501c3, to preserve the original jail on the top floor of our Maricopa County Superior Courthouse built in 1929. Ernesto Miranda, from the landmark Miranda v. Arizona United States Supreme Court opinion issued in 1966, was interrogated, jailed and tried in this courthouse. The Museum educates adults and students interested in local history and the justice system by providing an interactive experience highlighting key civil and criminal rights cases as well as Maricopa County legal events. Funds raised will help expand exhibits to include additional landmark cases, enhance interactive learning, and develop public education programs for K-12.
