Dallas-Bound Learning!

Hello! Bonjour!

Well, here goes the BIG ONE folks. We are raising funds to take about 20 8th graders to Dallas, TX. The school I teach at has a tradition of taking 8th graders on an end of the year trip. With that being said, what better place than to take my kids to my hometown, Dallas. 

There in the city of Dallas the students will experience another state, a different city, and new things. Oh and most importantly, the opportunity to visit a local university and interact with current college students and college grads. The trip will also include visits to important cultural sights in the city of Dallas. The trip is schedule for May 16th - May 17th.

I believe this trip is important because, the vast majority of my South Louisiana students haven't ventured outside of Baton Rouge. Therefore this opportunity is important and crucial. This experience will open new minds, and help my students have bigger visions and dreams entering into high school.

Finances are tight in the community where I work. So, I'd like to help our top 20 students be able to go, by deferring some of the cost of the trip. It cost about $250 per student to attend. If you'd like to sponsor an entire student, that would be awesome. However any and all donations will help these students make one of their longest journeys from home, a 7 hour drive Northwest to Dallas, TX.

-They will tour University of Texas at Arlington campus

-Have the opportunity to visit a cultural sights in Dallas (the JFK 6th Floor Museaum & Klyde Warren Park)
