Preschool In a Box

We believe every child should receive access to education. For many children, that isn't always the case at the preschool level. Without this crucial start to education, the child falls behind from the very beginning and often spends a life time catching up .
Our research shows that families living in the East Kansas City communities make on average $26,000 per household. In the Kansas City public school district, pre-K costs approximately $12,000 per year, per child. Our Preschool In a Box proposal is to start where we are in Kansas City and provide a free alternative.
Here we give you, preschool in a box. Our proposal to provide readily available, pre-K curriculum, along with guided materials to families of all kinds. Pre-K in a box will provide materials focusing on major learning developments. These include Social skills, Motor skills, Reasoning & concept development, Language skills, Reading skills,
Writing skills, Mathematics concepts, Science, Creative Arts & Music, Social studies.
Support us in our launch of our pilot boxes, and help bring this idea into action!
WHO WE ARE: We are a group of 3 students in the Design Department at the Kansas City Art Institute working on a school project that can bring on some real change, starting in our own back yard. We are woking on a year long project for Visual Advocacy, partnering with Communities Creating Opportunities, a local non-for profit.

Thanks so much,
