My nephew, Trey Davis, who I have always considered my first son, was involved in a tragic swimming accident on the night of Saturday, June 8th, which left him initially fighting for his life, to now being completely paralyzed from the neck down. After a 5 hour surgery at Shands Hospital on Sunday, June 9th, which was deemed successful, Trey will now be fighting to walk again.

As many of you are aware, Trey’s hospital bills are going to add up exponentially. Coupled with the fact that Trey’s rehabilitation will begin immediately afterwards at the nationally renowned Shepherd Center in Atlanta, we are in need of your help. Many people have reached out to members of my family as well as myself inquiring on how they can help, therefore I have decided to create a GoFundMe page in an effort to offset some of the impending medical bills. I think I can speak on behalf of Trey and my entire family in saying that we greatly appreciate all of the texts, phone calls, and most importantly the prayers that have been extended to us.

PLEASE understand that I do not want your bill money or your last dollar. Whereas I appreciate everyone’s potential generosity, this memo is intended strictly for people that can afford to help, no matter the denomination. Regardless if you choose to contribute to Trey’s cause or not, please continue to pray that God heals this spectacular young man.

Please SHARE this link.

May God bless you,

Adam Davis

Update on Trey:

We are ecstatic to announce that Trey is now able to voluntarily move his right thumb and a couple of his other fingers on his right hand! Trey has long said that he just wishes he could use his hands, so I pray to God this will progress into use of both his hands and all of his fingers.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support!

An update on Trey:

First of all, I want to apologize for not being able to keep everyone posted the last day or two concerning Trey’s current state; I had to meet several wonderful ladies at Mikey and Sylvia’s current house in order to organize and pack everything.

As for his actual condition: mentally, Trey is the same old Trey that we all love and admire. He is alert, able to listen, able to carry on conversations, and sharp as a tack. His spirits are at an all time high since the accident.

Physically, he is able to lift both arms and practically has full range of motion in his right leg. He is anxiously anticipating movement in his hands. He KNOWS he will walk again and function much like he was able to prior to the accident. He also knows there are some tough rehabilitation days ahead of him. “It’s just gonna take some time, and I realize that” he says.

If you are a close friend or have a child who is a close friend to Trey and are reluctant to come down, please do. Now, I say that with much caution. He is weening HIMSELF off of pain medicine slowly but he still has to take them occasionally, so if you come down and he is completely doped up at the time, I cannot promise that you will be able to see him.

Trey loves all of you and most of all, he loves our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Much love to everyone!

Adam

Update on Trey:

I am proud to say that for the first time, Trey was able to lift his right leg up and down and side to side from the hip. My brother Mikey said you could see the excitement and HOPE in his eyes.

Please continue praying for his recovery, specifically for his mental state. We have a tough road ahead no doubt, but we are so encouraged by his progress to this point.

Trey will be transported to Shephard's in Atlanta next Thursday, 6/20.

Thank you all for your prayers and continued support.

An update on Trey: This morning, Trey’s physical therapist lifted him to the side of his hospital bed and asked him to kick his feet outwards. I am OVERJOYED to report that Trey was able to kick his right foot out! He has also been able to lift both arms 8-12” off the bed! Glory be to God!

Please keep the prayers coming!
