Tragic event just days after birth

Devastation sets in after a tragic event separates family just days after the birth of baby Tucker.

Just three days after welcoming their bundle of joy, Christy Scheening and Andy Deon were released home to begin what was supposed to be a beautiful journey of becoming a family of four. Instead, during the first night home Christy began having seizures. She was rushed to the hospital where they found a bleed in the brain. She was placed on full life support and airlifted to Fletcher Allen Medical Center, three hours from home, for emergency neurosurgery consisting of a craniotomy which removed a portion of her skull to relieve the pressure and stop the bleeding. Mother, Father, and children were separated, missing those precious, first moments at home to bond as a family but most importantly, the bond between mother and newborn baby.

The surgery was successful in stopping the bleed and Christy was placed in a medically induced coma to allow her brain to rest and heal. The most critical moments lie ahead as the extent of the damage to her brain will be unknown until she wakes. The road to recovery is going to be long for Christy and her family with an extensive hospital stay, rehabilitation, and doctor’s appointments. Going back to work in order to help support her family is not in sight at this time for Christy.

Christy Scheening and Andy Deon are such giving and loving people. They could really use your prayers and any financial offerings you are willing to give.  Your donation will be used immediately and ongoing to help pay for uncovered medical expenses, maintaining the home for their children, and the expenses incurred for Andy’s lodging and travel back and forth to support both Christy and the children.

As sisters of Christy, we are so grateful for any and all support offered to help during this trying time. Words cannot express our gratitude.  We are just so hopeful for a successful recovery so our sister can reunite in her home with Andy, her ten-year-old daughter, Jazmyn, and her newborn baby boy, Tucker.

If you would also like to help in other ways, please feel free to reach out to one of Christy's sisters.
