on 5/22/2016, as most of you are aware, Chari, 34, was showing signs of a stroke. Her friend had notice that morning that only her right side of her face was smiling, while the left side was remaining "droopy".   As a child, she was diagnosed with Leukemia, but, she has been in remission since she was 15 years old. Her uncle had given her the three tests to determine if was a stroke, and when she had failed 2 out 3 tests, they immediately went to Corona Regional Medical Cente. When they were there, the medical team rushed her in for a CT scan.

Around 10:30 that night we all received the call that Chari was diagnosed with a brain tumor 4cm x 4cm (2 inches x 2 inches) that was located the right side of her frontal lobe.  Not only was this shown on the Cat scan, but the tumor was being compressed by her skull and putting pressure on the left side of her brain.  Because of this, it was causing her left side of her brain to "shift", which was causing her left side to weaken, her to walk to the left, and her speech to be slightly impaired.  After this, she was immediately transported to UCI of Orange County.

On Wednesday, May, 25th, at 12:15, she underwent a 4 hour long intense brain surgery that would not only get a piece to biopsy, but also remove a little over 90% of the tumor. Surrounded by friends and family and prayers that were overflowing from church members and a lot of people who only knew her by word of mouth, Chari came out of her surgery.

She spent 2 more days at UCI, undergoing a few physical therapy treatments to help her regain the strength on her left so she would be able to be transported to a rehabilitation center.

On Friday 5/27, the pathology report came back that the tumor was cancerous and NOT Leukemia. The tumor was classified as an agressive stage III or stage IV Glioma.  However, she was transferred to Ballard rehabilitation In San Bernardino.

Here at Ballard, they are working with her to regain the strength of her left side, cognitive skills, and long term memory skills.  Some of the things she is unable to do consists of: tying her  shoes, remember sequencing, remember basic math skills, and walking.  We are hoping to get Chari home before 2 weeks post surgery so she can begin her 6 week radiation and chemotherapy.

she has beat cancer once and we are sure she will beat it a second time.  No how agressive this cancer wants to be, she is strong and she is a fighter.  She is so determined to live.

We are making this gofundme page to help with the costs of any medical necessities, procedure, and medications and also with the financial hardships the family has endured over the last week, and will continue over the next few months.

we thank everybody who has visited this page and those who have donated.  And we ask that if you do are unable to donate to please continue to pray for her.
