I want to first start by saying thank you to all for reading this, sharing, liking, posting, emailing, and donating.
For those of you who don't know, my 37-year-old son, Joshua, suffered two heart attacks in early March 2017. He then had surgery in Pittsburgh for a 100% occlusion to his right coronary artery after our local hospital was unsuccessful in their attempt to clear it. He received three stents to the artery and is now recovering.
Josh is husband to Kelly, and father to their eight-year old twin daughters, Avey and Maya. The heart attacks came as a shock as he has no cardiac history and was generally healthy. This is all very stressful as it is, but it happened one month before their daughter, Maya is scheduled to go to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for her first week-long evaluation in April.
Maya has a rare autoimmune disease called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Maya's body attacks food as if it were a parasite causing her pain, nausea, and vomiting. This condition makes it so that she is unable to eat many foods. After years of different doctors and treatments, they were accepted into Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where they specialize in her condition.
Josh and Kelly have been missing work and will be missing more. They are out of paid time off. Over the next few months they could use help to cover insurance copays; upcoming travel costs, including lodging for trips to Cincinnati and Pittsburgh; and other expenses that they typically pay with their salary.
