Power of Video: A Documentary

Donation protected
"The Power of Video: A Documentary" will tell the story of the alumni of a broadcast technology class at a public high school near St. Louis, Missouri.

Film, journalism, video storytelling, etc. are becoming a crucial part of the lives of the millenial and younger generations, yet still seem to be undervalued while students are in school. The broadcast technology class at Ladue Horton Watkins High School outwardly teaches skills of video recording, editing, and interviewing- but so much more is involved. When students go through the process of learning these skills, they also learn interpersonal values, media literacy, how to responsibly use technology, and how to convey important stories, emotions, and themes through video. These are some of the most "real life" applicable skills that a high school student can learn, whether students continue in a media related field or not. Through capturing the stories of former students whose life choices were impacted by the experiences and relationships they had in Ladue's broadcast technology program, "The Power of Video" will be a story that the world needs to hear about the powerful effects media education can have, as well as how our approach to it should change as technology becomes such a powerful part of our everyday lives.

We are raising funds that will go directly to the travel and production expenses that are required to tell this powerful and potentially shocking story. We appreciate any help that you could offer to make this happen.
