Kevin died of a sudden medical emergency on August 31st, 2019. He was training at Depot, Regina, to become a police officier. He would have graduated on September 30th.

About Kev: He began his military career as an infanteer but his heart had always leaned towards becoming a policeman and therefore remustered as an MP in the reserves. It didn’t take long for him to decide he wanted to take it one step further and embarked on taking his RegForce QL3, where he was Top Candidate, Top Shot and winner of Commandant’s Challenge. It was clear Kevin was destined to become a great policeman. With his course completed, he took on Class B taskings with 5MP and as his new bride had just started her career in BC, Kevin opted to follow her and transferred to 1MP.

As Kevin was a devoted husband and didn’t want to move away from his lovely wife, he opted to take his career civvie-side and joined the RCMP.

It was during the last weeks of his course at RCMP Depot that Kevin fell ill and passed away suddenly.

As Kevin wasn’t considered a Regular Member of the RCMP, his wife isn’t entitled to any benefits afforded to spouses of Regular Members and as he was a Reserve Member of the CAF on leave, his wife isn’t entitled to any benefits. Being a young couple starting their careers and living in BC, this is not only an emotional crisis but a financial burden.

In his short life, it was clear that Kevin was devoted to serving his country and his wife wanted to give him an honourable funeral he deserved.

With this in mind, if all the brothers and sisters in arms can support in anyway they can afford, it would go a long way to giving Kevin a proper and honourable funeral and support his wife, who is also a part of our ‘blue’ family.”

Kevin had a remarkable path.  Along his way; he touched many hearts through his police training and his military career. Kevin was loved and respected by everyone he frequented.

Your financial contribution will help Justine and Renée to pay for Kevin's funerals and honors. Thank you.

Merci.
