Post-Harvey Barrett Home Rebuild

Donation protected

You might have seen this image as it has gone viral across social media and news outlets through their coverage of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey, but you may not realize that these two children belong to my cousin Nicole and her husband Brett Barrett, both public school teachers in Houston. With water pouring into their home, their family was evacuated by Sheriff Deputy Rick Johnson and brought to safety by boat.

Brett, Nicole, their two toddlers, and four-month-old baby are thankfully safe and sound. The waters have now receded from their home in Cypress, Texas, and they have been able to survey the significant damage. They are not located in a flood zone which means cleanup is coming out of pocket on teachers’ salaries. Repairing their home and caring for 3 small kids won’t be easy.

Any contribution you make will help them get back on their feet and make sure they have a safe, happy home for their family. Help spread the word!
