Helping homeless women and children

Helping Kids to Recover, Inc. is a non-profit community based organization that offers long and short term housing through Positive Journey Housing (PJH), for single women and women with children. The homeless situation is a crisis today. There are so many single women and women with children living on the streets, and sleeping in cars, parks and alleyways. PJH provides long and short term housing to effectively transition women from being homeless to thriving in an independent housing environment.

The number of homeless women increased in Los Angeles by 55% since 2013 from 9,348 to 14,461 to date, according to the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority. PJH is making a difference in providing a safe and secure housing environment where women can focus on becoming self-sufficient again. PJH offers services that enable them to become self-reliant such as; Case Management, Life Skills, Legal Assistance, Employment Assistance ( job searching),Computer training, Budgeting, Conflict Resolution, and Parenting, just to name a few.
