MSU Community Portrait Day

Donation protected
Our goal for MSU Portrait Day is to provide families a free studio portrait for the holiday season and gifts for the children in addition to refreshments at the event and gift certificates to local businesses.

Students enrolled in the Advanced Studio Lighting course are inviting families who cannot easily a afford professional family portrait for the holiday season. Community Portrait Day is student-coordinated event with the supervision of MSU photography faculty. The students meet and greet the families to make them feel at ease in the studio, take their portraits, and help the families choose a favorite photograph to have printed.

Alexis Pike is our Advanced Studio Lighting professor and is responsible for all financial contributions via the Montana State University MTA.  The funds donated are used to purchase gift certificates to local businesses such as Rocky Mountain Toy Company and supplying refreshments purchased from businesses such as Town & Country for families in attendance to MSU Portrait Day.

In 2018, the students photographed more than 45 families with the support of donations. Your contributions help us continue to make this special event possible. Please join us in spreading joy to local families while giving back to our community. Thank you for the consideration in supporting Montana State University's 10th Annual Community Portrait Day.
