ABOUT A BRANDED CITY, TROUBLED BY ITS OWN SUCCESS.
We're a troop of successful filmmakers with decades of film and media projects under our wings. We're also local Portlanders, looking to tell the story of a city that is changing under our feet. In addition to our talented crew, our production toolkit contains more than 40 interviews from planners, historians, hipsters, makers, adventurers, designers, architects, politicians, community misfits and cultural do-gooders: all of them brought under the same lens to discuss our city during this epic moment of change.
Everyone involved has volunteered their time to shape story, to cultivate these interviews and bring these impactful voices to the big screen and the far reaching audiences around the globe. We finally have reached a point where we can no longer go it alone. We need funds to pay for things like archival footage and licensing from the Historical Society, transcription, a very talented, documentary-specific editor that knows this story well(because they're local too, and being affected by the same changes), graphic design, festival fees and other odds and ends to help us take this to the top studios to show the world that Portland is the city that got it right, and will do so again.
The sooner we can obtain and surpass our goal of fundraising, the better. Movies are expensive because storytelling at this level requires talent & our beloved city deserves it. Even if you're new to Portland or live in a major metropolitan city, you're familiar with how timely this film must be. This story must be told sooner rather than later in order to impact those that need to see it.
We have been working on this film for two years, driven by our love of Portland; this place we call home. Your contribution makes every obstacle and struggle we've overcome so very worth it. Thanks so much for your participation. You're a true Portlander!
