Trout Fishing Loo For You
Does a bear go in the woods? Of course, but you no longer have to when visiting North and South Bear Creeks in Winnesheik County, Iowa. These cold water trout streams are two of the most productive and popular in Iowa’s Driftless region. Water quality protection and your comfort are reason enough for providing portable toilets at the confluence of these two incredible trout streams.
Three Iowa chapters of Trout Unlimited and the Hawkeye Fly Fishing Association have funded this project in the past, but now ask your help in funding for the coming years. Ness Pumping Service of Waukon can provide two handicapped accessible (Required by the DNR) and two standard toilets for six months at a cost of $2,520.
The placement of the potties has been allowed by the Iowa DNR, however the state does not provide any money for the project. We are asking for the users and potential users and for those who value water quality to chip in and insure that the facilities are again available from May though the end of October each year.
