 COLVILLE, WA
For the past three seasons, the Notheast Washington Farmers Market has enjoyed sponsoring the POP Club in Colville.  We have watched our 5-12 year olds learn to shop at the Market, empowering them to make healthy food choices and appreciate fresh, local produce.  We now have over 500 children of that age group participating and many more younger ones looking forward to becoming a member when they attain the age of 5. These children bring an excitement to the Market and we enjoy watching them learn the Power of Produce.

Unfortunately, the success of the POP Club has exceeded the Market's ability to fund the program.  After the initial grant of $5000.00 from Empire Health Foundation and a $1000.00 grant from Kettle Falls Horizons, the Market has been funding the program on it's own.

At this time, we are asking our community and families to contribute to this important, exciting children's program.  Remember, all monies collected will be coverted directly to tokens for the children's purchasing power; there are no administrative fees associated with the POP Club program.

Let's continue to keep the red bags as a symbol of our community support.  Thank you for your help; it's our children who will benefit!

THANK YOU to all who have donated to our kids' POP Club! We are so appreciative of the funds we've received so far, at our online gofundme campaign as well as in person at the market. We have enough funds at this point that we are able to make our upcoming Cider Pressing Event on September 17 a POP Club day. All kids ages 5-12 who attend the market that day will receive $2 in tokens to spend on fresh fruits and veggies. Everyone will get to taste some fresh pressed cider as well! Please bring the family to the Farmers Market on September 17. We still have a ways to go to reach our full goal, but we will take every opportunity to give our local children a chance to purchase their own fresh produce.

Unfortunately, today is the last day we will be distributing tokens to our POP Club kids, until we receive more funding. Any and all donations help, and as soon as we reach our goal, we will start the POP Club up again!

The Farmers Market is providing a variety of fun, free activities for our POP Club kids this summer. It is wonderful to see our community's kids learn about healthy eating, making good food choices, and enjoying the farmers market. THANK YOU for your support, which makes it possible for kids to purchase their own produce when visiting the market.

Hope this helps and if you could use some of my poem books to raise some additional funds I would be willing to donate a dozen.
