RESTORING FAITH IN HUMANITY

Majestic corals make for the backdrop of almost every tropical setting.  Coral ecosystems provide a habitat to over 25% of all marine life.  Reefs are very fragile and are easily threatened by pollution, marine debris, boats, deforestation and irresponsible ecotourism.  Like many of Earth's precious commodites coral reefs are underestimated for their potential and overlooked for their importance.

My mission is to show my students how to make a difference that will benefit all of us and learn valuable lessons in the process.  So help me raise funds to protect, save and restore the priceless and timeless coral reef ecosystems of the Florida Keys.  All funds will be donated to Reefrelief.org based in Key West Fl.  This organization focuses on scientific education to gain intimate knowledge of reef systems, which they use to increase public awareness.  Please visit their website to learn more.

I am a Biology teacher from the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York.  I am asking my students to  use their technology for a more noble cause than snap-chatting their latest lunchroom selfie.  Instead I want them to explore the world that is out of our immediate proximity, to learn about marine wildlife while playing an active role in making a positive impact on the organisms and ecosystems that they research and learn about.  In essence, I am asking the youth of America to help save the world!
