Tornado Relief Fund

$20,400 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 236 people in 10 months
33174360_1537619015266054_r.jpegOn September 21st my brother and his family lost their home to the tornado in Dunrobin. They have a 5 year old daughter, a 1.5 year old son and a baby girl due in January.

I am hoping to raise funds to get them back on their feet and get the necessities they need to get their life somewhat back to normal. Anything will help and it is so appreciated!

I also wanted to add a shout out to everyone for your generous words, thoughts and support during this difficult and unexpected event. I can’t express our thanks enough for all that you have done to help our kids. It’s beyond a doubt a tiring, emotional time and they are all having sad, angry, and frustrating moments, but I give them a 'thumbs up' for handling things the way they are. They are also slowly saying farewell to their ‘happy place’ as more and more clean-up of debris is taking place now. Soon it will be an empty space that will need to be rebuilt with love, patience and perseverance. How does it feel? We can’t fully comprehend, but through your beautiful words and thoughts, they will find hope to carry on and be strong for themselves and for others. I am confident they will prevail as will the rest of the affected people in our city! I hope it will make everyone stronger and more resilient and able to hold onto cherished moments as they rebuild and create more wonderful memories in the process. For me this is a reminder to all of us to take warnings very seriously and to never to say never to things happening to you or your loved ones, but mostly it is a reminder of how truly wonderful people are when it comes to helping each other!!! One person’s misfortune is a realization to all us of how something bad can reveal so many positives. A ‘happy place’ is wherever you want it to be – the sign is with them now and will go up wherever they will be. There are so many sad and heroic stories and people in need out there and I’m afraid that we will forget about it very soon and move on while so many people are struggling to find a place to live and get their lives picked back up – literally - so thank you again for being there to help our family and let’s keep up the spirit for everyone affected. Hugs to everyone. Jess’ mom

I just wanted to thank everyone once again for the amazing support and generosity during this entire time. My brother Ben and his wife Jess cannot begin to explain how much it means to them and our whole family feels the same way. They are doing well now staying with family until a longer term plan is made.

GoFundMe has asked me to explain to everyone that has donated that I am withdrawing the donation funds into my name then I am transferring them to Ben and Jess so they can use it to get back on their feet over the next few months which I am sure will continue to be overwhelming for them but they take comfort in the fact that they are all safe and they have such amazing family friends and even strangers there supporting them ❤️
