Please help Tim fight cancer

Tim Hesselfeld ist ein immer lächelnder, neugieriger und liebenswerter 14jähriger Junge.
Er ist der ältere Bruder seiner zwei jüngeren Geschwister, Tyler (6 Jahre) und Lena (4 Jahre).

Tim wurde mit dem Mikrodeletionssyndrom 1p36 geboren und ist deshalb in seiner Entwicklung erheblich eingeschränkt.

Dieses Mikrodeletionssyndrom hat außerdem die Skoliose in seinem Rücken verursacht, was auch vor nicht allzu langer Zeit festgestellt wurde.
Dann am 9. Oktober 2017 der Schock. Nach unzähligen Untersuchungen und Arztterminen hatten wir die Diagnose Leukämie erhalten.

Von da an bekam Tim eine Chemo nach der nächsten. Als schließlich das halbe Jahr Intensivtherapie geschafft war, begann die Erhaltungstherapie.
Es sah zunächst alles gut aus, die Ärzte waren zuversichtlich und Tim hatte eine gute Heilungschance von 98%. Wir freuten uns sehr.

Am 29. August 2018, nach nur 16 Wochen der Erhaltungstherapie, wurde uns abermals der Boden unter den Füßen weggerissen. Die Leukämie war wieder da.

Die einzige Chance Tim das Leben zu retten und geheilt zu werden ist eine Stammzellentransplantation.
Es wurden auch schon 3 Spender gefunden. Diese kann aber erst durchgeführt werden, nachdem alle vorhandenen Krebszellen zerstört sind.

In nicht all zu langer Zeit wird er wieder im Krankenhaus leben müssen und das für die nächsten 3 - 4 Monate, wo er tägliche Behandlungen und Medikamente bekommt.

Das Krankenhaus ist 125km von uns entfernt und natürlich versuchen wir als Familie ihn dort so oft wie möglich besuchen zu können, doch natürlich wird die Benzin-Rechnung immer höher und die Kassen übernehmen diese leider nicht. Zudem wird auch das Pflegegeld eingestellt, wenn Tim im Krankenhaus ist.

Außerdem soll Tim natürlich an nichts fehlen, so werden auch öfter neues Spielzeug, Spiele, Snacks und alles andere, was ihm das Leben dort ein wenig schöner und ihn etwas glücklicher machen kann, von uns zu ihm gebracht.

Wir haben kein Zeitlimit, bis wann wir die Spenden benötigen, da diese für Tim's absehbare Zukunft sein werden. Aber jede noch so kleine Freundlichkeit, die wir von euch erhalten, hilft uns dabei Tim's Leben besser zu machen.

Tim Hesselfeld is an always smiling, inquisitive and loving 14 year old boy.
He is the elder brother of Tyler, 6 years old and Lena, 4 years old.

Since Tim was young he has suffered from microdeletion syndrome which has lead him to be slower at processing things, as well as hindering him from being able to read and write.
This microdeletion syndrome has also caused the scoliosis in his back, which he was diagnosed with two years ago.

On top of these life changing conditions, Tim then suffered from months of migraines and pain in his legs, these symptoms were caused by Leukemia, a form of cancer he was diagnosed with on 9th October 2017.

Since the diagnosis, Tim has been going through many different treatments including, chemotherapy and multiple biopsies. He was living in the hospital for almost two months, then having to take two hour taxi journeys to the hospital almost everyday for a year.

When things were looking good and Tim had responded to the treatment well, the doctors noticed that his Leukemia had come back and much faster than usual. On the 29th August 2018 Tim received the diagnosis of Leukemia again.

The only option now to save Tim’s life is to have a bone marrow transplant. But this treatment can only be done if all of the Leukemia cells in his body can be removed again. Shortly he will be back to living at the hospital for at least the next four months, with multiple treatments a day.
The hospital is two hours away and with us, his family, trying to visit him as much as we can, the fuel bill does add up.
Not to mention getting Tim new toys, games, snacks and anything to try to make him as happy as we can through this time.

We don’t have any set time we need donations by as this will be Tim’s life for the foreseeable future, but every little kindness you send our way helps us towards making Tim’s life better.

I, Carolin, am the sister of Miriam Hesselfeld-Bossen (Tims mum) decided to start this campaign. Both of us live in Stedesand, in the North of Germany. The insurances are not willing to help and since the hospital where Tim has to stay in for 4 months is 125km away from us, I started this. The money will go straight to Miriam who is going to use it mainly for fuel but also for other treats and things Tim is going to need for his time in the hospital.
