Single Mom in Dire Need of Help

When I purcahsed this home, I was not made aware that it was on fire at one point. We were told that there was a leak in the kitchen that needed to be repaired.  Keep in mind that this is the underneath of the ceiling and it is exposed. When you walk in, it is the first thing you see.



According to the building inspector, the roof in my kitchen and the second bedroom will not make it through another winter, as you can see the picture I have included. It is a safety hazard.  The kitchen and the backroom look identical. The structure is considered to be unsafe but we cannot afford to  move either.

I am s aingle mom with a limited income. I have four children, 2 of them are autistic. I am able to work limited times throughout the day and I am unable to make enough money to care for my children and to fix this problem. The contractor estimated that it will cost about $15,000 to fix this problem alone.

I hate to ask for help, but I don't know what to do. The kids' father is moving out and wants nothing to do with this mess. He does not care that his children are being subjected to this.

Please, Please, Please help! There is no way this roof/ceiling is going to last through the winter and we have to get it fixed as soon as possible.
