Please Help Us Raise Money for Naj's Medical Bills

On Friday, August 16, Sonia, Megan and I drove up to Chico, CA to visit our beloved college town and our friend Casey Bradshaw. On Saturday night as we were walking home a car of 5 men and one woman jumped us without any explanation. The group was not provoked, and we were all punched, kicked, and harassed. In addition to our group of four girls being left with bruises and concussions from the assault, our friend Naj Kamunde was not as lucky. He was the only one who stepped in and helped us during this horrible situation. As a result, Naj suffered extensive physical trauma and had to be immediately taken in an ambulance to emergency. If it weren't for his bravery, the four of us girls would have been more seriously injured.

We are extremely thankful for Naj, and are scared to think what would have happened if he hadn’t come to our defense. By creating this gofundme, we are trying to give back anything we can to him and his family.

Any donation, no matter how much, is incredibly appreciated. We’ve always appreciated how close the Chico State community is, and when horrible things happen we know we can count on each other for support.

For those still attending Chico State, this happened on 5th and Hazel, between the Gamma Phi and Phi Tau houses. Please be careful, as this shows that you can get jumped anywhere. We were in a group and in a populated area and this attack still happened despite following everything we’re taught to do. It is so important to be aware, and we hope no one ends up in a similar situation.
