Please help the Turner family after their tragedy

On Tuesday, November 20, 2018 David S. Turner, Sr. told his wife of 45 years, Deborah, that he loved her and heroically entered their burning home to rescue their disabled daughter and their granddaughter.  Within moments, their granddaughter suddenly found herself on the ground outside a window of the home.  Shortly thereafter, the fire department found their disabled daughter laying on the floor in the hallway with her loving father laying close by.  Both father and daughter had received serious burn injuries.  David Turner Sr. succumbed to those injuries the night of Wednesday, November 21st and went to meet his Lord and Savior to dwell in eternal happiness. David Turner Sr. was an inspiration to anyone who knew him.  His faith in the Grace of God was unshakable.  His smile and sense of humor was something to enjoy, and his sense of service to others was unparalleled.  He lived his life with a service-oriented heart.  Through his life he was a Vietnam Army Veteran, a Police Officer, a member of the Lubbock County Sheriff Department, and a Parole Officer for the State of Texas.  He will be greatly missed by many family members, “adopted” family, and friends. Sadly, as the Turner Family is coming to terms with losing a beloved family head, their difficulties are far from over.  David and Deborah’s daughter is facing a very long road ahead of her in her recovery from the injuries she sustained, as well as simply living life with the disability she already had.  David and Deborah’s home is currently unlivable and will require extensive renovation in order to make it a home again.  All of their daughter’s medical equipment will have to be replaced, as well as all personal belongings that were in the bedrooms and living room at the time of the fire.  The family is currently unable to receive and store physical item donations, but those of us who have surrounded them with our love through this difficult time would like to reach out and request any financial donation that you can manage.  If we all work together, we can all help this wonderful family get back on their feet and find a new normal in the wake of such an all-encompassing tragedy. All funds donated will be given directly to Deborah Turner by her son David and Jeannette Arledge.
