I am asking anyone and everyone that can to help my cousin Virginia Overton and her son, Shane. She recently had mechanical issues with the transmission in her truck and asked a family friend to help make the necessary repairs. He came highly recommended as a mechanic, so she allowed him to move her truck to his home for easier access to begin work. After much follow up over a 3 week period, he finally delivered her truck to her, stating a used, but working transmission had been installed and the truck was ready to drive. It was not. He did not install the transmission at all; he left the same transmission in and it is now full of metal filings and cannot be driven. Virginia is 66 years old, disabled and suffers from diabetes, arthritis, COPD and circulatory issues in her legs. Her adult son, Shane, lives with her and suffers from the effects of a traumatic brain injury and currently recovering from back surgery. Her truck is her ONLY form of transport to and from doctor appointments for both her and her son, as well as simple tasks like obtaining prescriptions, groceries, mail, etc. She lives 26 miles from town in rural northern Minnesota and desperately needs her truck repaired before winter sets in. The cost for a replacement transmission is $2,500. Please, please help her reach this goal so she can make those repairs!! Thank you.
