Lambie is one of the funniest, sweetest, most kind and stubborn friends I’ve ever had. Lambie was caught running around a four lane highway in North Carolina, lodged in a high-kill shelter, transported to a rescue in New Jersey and then adopted by an unkind owner who finally gave her to me. I could not be more thrilled to host someone in my home and love them with my whole heart. She is gentle and protective. Innocent and clumsy. She is all the best things.
She is suffering now from a large mass (suspected plantar wart) growing from the side of her toe. It seemed for a while not to bother her, but she is now clearly in a great deal of pain, and I feel badly for her that she is not able to enjoy the summer. We run a dog daycare and boarding, and she misses out on much of the play, sulking on her bed hiding her wart (really, it’s very sad).
The estimate for surgery for Lambie is approximately $1200. I am hopeful for the spirit of community I feel from friends, and any good karma I may have racked up along the way! If I’m able to raise More money than the actual cost of the surgery I will donate the remaining funds to Arc of Promise Rescue, and Sharon Soder, who is responsible for saving Lambie’s life, and connecting us. She works every day to save the lives of innocent dogs who need homes.
