Please help Julius Catstantine III

Around 9pm 12/28/18, I came home from work and noticed Julius laying on the floor, which by itself isn't necessarily a problem. His breathing rate was the problem--about quadruple the rate a resting cat's heart rate should be. He wouldn't eat his favorite wet food, he wouldn't purr, he could barely jump or even walk.
We took him to the emergency clinic and stayed until about 3am when we had to leave him there to be hospitalized. There's fluid around his lungs which is causing him trouble breathing. He's staying in oxygen while he's there. His heart is in an abnormal position in his chest and the vet said she wasn't able to get a clear, normal heartbeat from him.
Julius Catstantine III has been in my life since he was just a little kitten, no bigger than a water bottle. For a long time he was the only thing that kept me going as a struggled with depression. He was always there to keep me happy and healthy, and I want to be able to do the same for him.
Our goal right now is to cover the vet bill we just received with a little bit of wiggle room; we are praying that everything will be fine after his treatment and he can come back home to us.
Update: 12/29/18 2:46pm --- Received a call from the vet that there was a slight improvement from the Lasix and an additional medication. His breathing rate decreased from 100bpm to about 64bpm, which is still very high but better. They recommended another ultrasound and to have an ultrasonographer check it out, which we are doing. The price for it was $466 bringing it up to $1550.16.
It turns out there isn't a lot of fluid around his lungs so she believes the primary problem is with his heart. She believes that consulting a cardiologist would be the best course of action after the ultrasound. Hence the goal being raised to $2000.
I'll continue to update this as I hear back.
