Please help Connie with a life saving operation
I was asked by an animal rescue if I would be able to offer a home to a Greyhound who had endured a number of years in sad circumstances. I agreed immediately as her story touched my heart, and so Connie, as I named her came into my life.
Connie was quite reactive to my two other greyhounds at first, I realized this was due to fear rather than aggression and she soon started to calm down and relax, enjoying her walks and snoozing on the sofa, usually upside down!
Connie has recently been diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis which means that her larynx is collapsing, if not treated Connie will be unable to breathe.
I have been in touch with a vet who specialises in soft tissue surgery and who will operate on Connie (see update).
The cost for this is £4,800 and I am trying to raise £2,000 towards this.
The success rate for this surgery is good and will give my Connie her life back. After those six lost years I feel she is more than owed her chance.
If you feel you can contribute in any way I would be very grateful for your help.
With thanks
Gillian Wild and Connie.
