My name is Regina Gavaghan, I am a Client Services Manager at Bayada Home health Care. On Monday 6/11, One of our most hardworking Home Health aides Melissa reached out to me regarding her recent struggles.
To give you a little bit of background, Melissa is a single mom of two little girls; ages of 5 and 2. The oldest girl has autism and requires special care.
Since April 4th, her electric has been shut off due to the fact that a family member put a bill in her name and purposely never paid it. She has filed a lawsuit to get this resolved, but in the mean time PECO cannot prove this was not her bill to pay, and will not turn her electric back on until they receive a payment of $6,000.
Melissa unfortunately has fallen behind on her own bills because of payments to her lawyer, day care costs and car problems on top of it all.
It's truly heartbreaking that Melissa is dealing with these hardships by herself. She has to be one of the strongest young women I know. I could not imagine what it has been like raising two young girls without power for over two months now.
We want to be able to help Melissa and her girls as much as possible.
