It's almost that time of year again...
Our beloved Portland summer is right around the corner, and that means that its time to start getting excited for the Playground Park Party! Playground is celebrating 12 years of sun-soaked, blissful dancing and good times under the St. Johns Bridge!

The 12th Annual Playground Park Party will take place on Sunday, June 24th, 2018 in Cathedral Park, St. Johns
Playground is, and always will be a free, family-friendly community gathering taking place in St. John's iconic Cathedral Park. For many of us, Playground has become a major highlight of the Portland summer season. The Portland dance music community, which now spans three generations, can all gather together in a beautiful setting to enjoy a full day of sunshine and music selected by some of the regions' best DJs.
To keep this event free and legal with excellent sound, we have some standard overhead expenses to cover.
Event permit: $350
Noise variance permit: $95
Insurance: $225
Portable toilets: $800
Sound system rental & transport: $800
Generator: $350
These are the absolute bare-minimum costs to keep this event going, and keep the production and sound quality at the level it has been over the last decade. There is a fundraiser party taking place at The Liquor Store on March 31, which will hopefully raise enough to cover a substantial portion of the necessary expenses, but we will definitely need some additional support from the Playground community at large to make this work! Any funds raised beyond the bare minimum overhead costs will be funneled directly into community art projects to be enjoyed at the event.
