PLAY IT FORWARD: Educator Workshop

We are a staff of 22 early-childhood educator's on a mission to sustain PLAY as the most vital brain, body and community-making work for children ages 18 mos to 5 years of age.
We look at childhood as a sacred time on the spectrum of our human development, deserving of special rights. We value a kind of play that is instrinsically motivated by the child, with LONG periods of uninterrupted time, in the natural living world. This kind of meaningful play is slowly being eliminated for preschool children all the way up to the third grade. And we are seeking to change all that.
Our non-profit community school, A Little Patch of Earth, is a platform for supporting critical thinking and educational change for an entire learning community of children, families and educators of the Santa Clarita Valley.

Attending this workshop will be a source of inspiration for both personal and professional development which we pledge to "PLAY" forward in a variety of school and community workshops that we will offer on developmentally appropriate practices for children in the years to come.
The profession of the average early childhood educator is sorely under-valued in American culture making enriching development such as PEP unaffordable for educators. A small or large token of your support for our development with speak volumes for how you value children and those who care for them. We thank you in advance for your kind and generous consideration.
