Placing Mom in Memory Care

Donation protected
A little over 4 years ago my Family received life changing news, news that no person in this world ever wants to hear. We found out that my beautiful young Mom (at the time 58) had Dementia. Our Family did research and in time learned a lot about Dementia, and quickly learned it's a brutal disease with no cure. It robs you of every single ability and clears your brain of memories. In time it was evident my Mom's Dementia (Frontal Temporal Lobe mixed with early onset Alzheimer's) was progressing quickly. My Mom can no longer, make sense when she speaks, read, write, dress herself, remember the life she created and made, and so much more was rob from her,

I don't think there's any more realistic way to put it, other then, my Family has been through Hell in these last 4 years. We've lost Kathy (my Mom) so many times and grieved her loss many times. Though she is still physically here, her mind has left us. She doesn't remember any of us Family any longer. But we as a strong Family have been her support and we care for her and try our best to keep her comfortable.

My Dad retired a few years ago to care for her 24/7. Imagine the toll that would take, and it has. My Dad has sacrificed every thing for his wife, without hesitation. My Mom doesn't know my Dad as her Husband, yet he will never treat her any different then his Wife, he will forever love.

For some time now, it's become very difficult to keep my Mom comfortable at home. She needs care we can't fully give her. As painful as the decision has been for my Family, we know we need to place her in Memory Care. It's time my Dad focus on his own health and Mom get additional help provided by Memory Care. As some of you may already know, the cost of this process is overwhelming. My Dad is 64 and doesn't qualify for help from the State. He will have to diminish their hard earned savings to pay for my Mom's care. For two years he will have to pay out of pocket. Memory care costs about $6000/month. Just to get her into the Facility we have found there is a security deposit of $5000 on top of first month lease of $6000. That's $11,000 for one month. Imagine the stress and fear my Dad is facing. Not only is he in agony as he takes his wife of 40 years to a nursing facility to live, but the financial burden.

This gofundme is the least I can do, for a man who has taught me so much and provided my Mom the best care he could for so long.
Please consider even a small donation if your able. And if your are unable, my Family certainly understands. But help us spread the word and help spread awareness of Alzheimer's and Dementia.

We thank you tremendously.
