The Raising Of Funds For My Friend Becky

Hello dear friends of mine❤️ As I sit here writing this message, I feel full with gratitude, because I am grateful that you care enough to read my words. I have written and re-written this message many times. Mostly because I believed, that there is a perfect way to write it. But, as we all know, when you are thinking too much about anything, you end up speaking from your head, instead of your heart. So here I am, writing this message one last time from my heart.

This is a photo of one of my very best and most wonderful friends, Becky, with her awesome daughter Evie. Many of you reading this right now already know about Becky’s recent medical challenges. If you are not aware, please know that she would want you to receive this news with absolute trust, hope and love in your heart. After all, blessings and gifts breathe in every moment. Even if those moments may feel challenging and scary at times. We are choosing to see blessings and gifts where others may see darkness. Because we believe, that what we think truly matters.

After 3 months of visiting Doctors and having multiple tests, scans and biopsies done, we now know, that at the young age of 43, Becky has Cancer. She has a Neuroendocrine Tumor and it is located behind her stomach. Her tumor is significant in size and as a result it is “invading,” her other organs. Which means, that if everything goes to plan, she will require a major surgery. During this surgery, her Surgeon will remove her tumor, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, duodenum, her left kidney and he will be detaching a vein and transplanting it with a new one. Her Oncologist and Surgeon, located a few hours away in Boston, at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, believes that no other treatment plan will be necessary after the surgery. However, Becky will be diabetic and she will need to live with an insulin pump for the rest of her life. There has been a lot of information to process, but Becky has been facing this news with true grace.

Her surgery will happen in the next few weeks and afterwards she will be out of work for 2 to 3 months. Because we work for an amazing, Non-Profit Organization, the majority of that time off will be unpaid. Which will be challenging because she needs to reach her new insurance deductible and pay for her regular household bills. She has been brainstorming how to make life work financially while she recovers and that is why I am writing you right now. Becky is a single Mother and has done an amazing job supporting both her and Evie, but she could really use your help. That is why I have created this GoFundMe page. I believe that if enough of us donate, even $5.00 or $10.00, it could add up to make a huge difference in her life.

Every dime donated will go towards paying for her medical bills, household bills, for medicine, for holistic care and for her mortgage during that time off. Your financial support will also allow her to rest and to focus on what really matters. Living a very long life, with all of us, who love her so much.

December 4th is Becky’s Birthday and I believe that this is a perfect way to celebrate her, to support her, to express our love and to show our appreciation for who she is. A beautiful human being, a magnificent giver of love, a profound believer in possibilities and a dedicated inspirer who has championed for hundreds of children on the Autism Spectrum. Watching her navigate through this journey has been humbling and I remain in awe of all that she is embodying. She is a fierce believer in hope and a living example of trust. There are no proper words to describe just how much I admire her.

If you are not able to donate, please lift up your blessings and prayers in her name. This is equally as important! In fact, every day we say, “Thank you we are blessed,” multiple times. Because, as I said before, we know that blessings come in many forms. Cancer happens to be the form that ours came in. As a result, we are loving more deeply and appreciating the people in our lives with even more heart and soul. That, in of itself, is a blessing! Lastly, another way that you can help, is by sharing this message on your own Facebook walls. Maybe someone else in your life can donate. Which would be amazing. I am already feeling grateful for the consideration!

I thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart for wanting to help my friend. I know that Becky will appreciate any form of support that you can offer her too! This act of kindness will create the necessary space for her to heal, so thank you, thank you and thank you. We love you all.

Love,
