Help Make Mayu a US Citizen
WHO AM I
Hello everyone!
I am an environmental engineer studying at the University of Florida. I have big hopes and dreams, mainly to research and develop affordable renewable energy. I am fairly involved as a student at UF - I am Internal Vice President of my school's chapter of Air and Waste Management Association, a part of a philanthropy committee with Phi Sigma Rho Engineering Sorority, and a student ambassador of my school's multicultural and diversity department.
WHY I'M ASKING FOR HELP
I would like to believe there's nothing holding me back from my dream, but there's one small problem. I'm a permanent resident, and a lot of internship and research opportunities require their applicants to be US citizens. My dream internship is with NASA, and unfortunately they only accept applications from US citizens.
Filing for citizenship costs a little under $1000, which is hard to fund being a low-income college student. I am asking for help covering these fees.
WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING
Filing fee- $640
Biometrics-$85
Other fees (Citizen Path and/or other filing software)- $120+
SUBTOTAL: $845+
TOTAL(just to be safe): $900
WHEN I NEED IT
I would like to have my citizenship before my senior year begins so that I still have time to apply for these internships. I would like to have this money raised by January 2018.
Thank you so much!
