A huge thanks to Kim for running this auction to raise funds in memory of her beloved Phoebe. She was our first ever rescue from Italy and since then nearly fifty dogs have followed in her paw prints.

About us and this fundraiser:
Spinoni are often abused in their own country. They are difficult to rehome in Italy - widely seen as working dogs, unsuitable to be house pets. A lovely dog can wait years in a shelter with no interest. In the UK and other countries they are much more loved and there are more people wanting to adopt a Spinone than there are dogs available. We help to connect these dogs in desperate need with loving homes.
We try to do everything with financial efficiency. We are all unpaid volunteers of course. And (with the adoption fee) we normally have to find only a few hundred pounds for each life renewed. But recently, three dogs have had enormous medical expenses which we must cover to be able to continue helping other dogs in need.
Darling Serena cost £4,500, to correct her deformed back legs and get her to her new life. We have so far raised £1,300 through your generous donations including much from her adopters. Her adopters have taken on all costs for her rehabilitation, but we still need to pay her vet bills from Italy. So that is £3,200 left to find.
And Bert and Martha, the two brave puppies who fought and won their battle with Parvovirus, still need £3,500 to pay for their completed and successful treatment.
It’s a lot of money but when you look at those dear faces we know you will agree that it would not have been right to turn away and say no.
And now we are a charity, with Gift Aid, every donation is worth 25% more! So that’s a big help already.
