Family of Phil Wurzelbacher

Our parents were on vacation in Chesapeake, VA when my dad had trouble breathing due to his COPD, and it lead to him being hospitalized in the ICU at Chesapeake General Medical Center. The breathing complications led to stress on his lungs, heart, and kidneys, that all compacted with the blood thinners he was already on caused a subderal hematoma, and they had to do emergency brain surgery to stop the bleed. The brain surgery was Tuesday, August 8th, and he had been sedated ever since. He is on a ventilator full time, as well as on a feeding tube, and small amounts of morphine, among other things, but the biggest recovery to focus on now is recovery from the brain surgery.

Our mother is currently staying at my Aunt's house in Chesapeake, VA, but the doctors are not giving us a timeframe on Dad's recovery. They have stated it could be days, weeks, or even months. And when he is released, there may be physical rehabilitation, which will have to be in Chesapeake until he is well enough to travel back to Cincinnati.

The purpose of this Go FundMe is to keep up on the bills for our parents, as our mother will be staying in Virginia for an indetermined amount of time, and Dad's income is the only income they have.

We appreciate any and all donations, and we will keep everyone updated on the situation, it will just take time for his body to recover.
