Phantom of the Opera (1925) Stills

Donation protected
I have been presented a unique opportunity to purchase rare stills from the 1925 production of The Phantom of the Opera.  The collector who owns them has been confirmed by a primary contributor of the 2003 Milestone DVD to be the source where the majority of rare stills on that set originated.

These rare stills are originals from Mary Philbin's personal collection - this is why many only have the film's production number - 4159 - and not a number after it like most of the common Phantom stills.  This means they are first generation and made directly from original negatives - They will be as clear and sharp as any of the best stills from the production you are likely to see.

A good majority of these stills are from the long lost Sedgwick reshoot, when Universal was trying to salvage what they thought would be a box office flop.  A few of these I am certain I have never seen anywhere and may, in fact, be the last copies in existence.

By helping this purchase, you are helping to save a piece of film history nearly 100 years old.

And the Second Batch are these images with Chaney.  Due to his presence, they are obviously worth more than the non-Chaneys.  And again, unlike the copies all over the internet, these are originals and will be the best quality we will be likely to see.  Anything I raise above the $9300 will go towards these images:
