Peter's jump back to recovery fund

Donation protected
June 3rd started out like any another Sunday spent at one of Peters favorite local bike trails. As he had done many times before, he launched over his favorite gap...but that Sunday his bike suspension failed and upon landing he was catapulted over his handlebars. He landed quite hard on his side and head in the flats beyond the jump. When he got up, he waived to his friend he was ok and attempted to walk it off.  He didn't make it very far and subsequently,  passed out for a few minutes. It was evident then... he was certainly, not ok.  After being taken to the local emergency room and having a CT scan, they discovered he had severe internal bleeding and had lost several units of blood already and was bleeding out.  They immediately Life-Flighted him to a trauma one hospital in the neighboring city where he was taken back to surgery to repair a grade 4.5 spleenic rupture. He spent the next two days in ICU, then three more in the hospital. The next seven weeks were spent recuperating at his parents house. Happy to report he recently returned to his own home to continue his recovery.  Will spare all the convalescing details, but despite some complications, he is expected to make a full recovery over time. We're incredibly thankful for this positive prognosis. The doctor says he has about  six more weeks before he can return to work or engage in any strenuous activity.  Not only will Peter soon have a flood of medical bills to contend with,  he's also lost some income since June 1st. Those who know Peter, know he is a humble guy and would not dare ask anything for himself. He is a giver! More often than not, you could find out him maintaining the local trails, sponsoring group rides, or see him participating in mtb races.  It's because of his selflessness that we are asking for donations on his behalf. He's yet to receive all his medical bills and won't know the total amount needed until after his insurance pays. His responsibility could reach $7,000.oo.   Any donation is sincerely appreciated; no gift is too small. Please help us make this an easier recovery for him. He needs only to concern himself with getting better- not with mounting bills. Thank you and God Bless.
