Pet Epileptology Expert funds For Lectures

Dear Funders!

My name is Dr Gabriella Kiss and I spent my last 30 years to learn, to explore and to find ways to heal epilepsy on pets and I am looking for sponsors for my future plans.

What are those plans?

I graduated in 1986 as a Veterinarian Doctor and 10 years before this I also graduated as a laboratory assistant, where I had the possibility to learn more about pharmacology and how the chemicals can affect anything in the brain.  As a veterinarian in her first few years I had to face many many cases where epilepsy just took little lives away even though I followed everything that I learnt on my great University.  The funny thing is that many other collegues can agree with this and we all did not understand why human epileptic patients just simply got better after they were treated by a human epileptologst.

I just simply did not understand it but I suspected that something is wrong with what I am doing. So after many years of confusement I tried to pick up the line with human epileptology and neurology. It was a hard ride.

Let me explain why: it takes at least 10 years for a human doctor to call himself an epileptologists. 10 years of experiments, researches, book readings, practicing, exams, etc... For us, veterinarians it is only a 45 minutes class and 5 pages of an internal medicine book what is about epilepsy. 

So I choosed that I learn from the greatest scientists of epileptology, neuropsychology, neurology, electrophysiology and from many others who can teach pain diagnostics, EEG-diagnostics and MRI/SPECT/PET/CT- diagnostics. I did it and my patients got better and better with my medication. Over 8000 epileptic patients and cases where I can prove that the method I use is succesfull.

In 2008 I reached the point where I establish my foundation, called Foundation for Epileptic Dogs (www.dogepilepsy.eu) and I tried to solve this many many cases by myself only with the support of my family and my dear collegues, and currently fighting for attacks from not-so-dear collegues that I was exposed to because of my new methods.

On my own it wasn't so easy, because epilepsy affects at least the 20% of the whole dog population and I even got patients from other countries. Somehow my Foundation to became a 0-24 emergency call center for hundreds of patients. That's scaring, I know. Also it was scaring when I realize that I was the only one who cares about the new method even though I found my collegues and friends who was cooperative enough to work as a team.

So I started to train my youngest and those collegues who were hungry for knowledge. I trained at least 30 of them and I was able to create a whole pet epileptology-network in Hungary under the name of my Foundation. This means that my trained students - who are just regular veterinarians like I was - were taught for treating and examinate epileptic pets in their own surgery. This is something I am really proud of.

But as I was born in Hungary and lived there for long, I had to realize that this country is not open minded enough for my final plan wich is to train as many collegues as I can to avoid more unneccesary dead of pets. To bring them into a life where epilepsy is just a part of their lives but not the tragedy of it. 

So I moved out to the United Kingdom, where I decided to start spreading my training and healing work as soon as possible. But for that plan I will need some financial support for the followings:

- rent places for lectures

- make commercials in any platforms and spread this opportunity

- translate my all hungarian lectures by a proper translator

- have a constant social media appearance 

- catering for the lectures

- meeting up with my future collegues and lecture-partners

- travel fees and accommodation (just in case for my lecture-partners)

- actual emergency cases where I will need to replace something

- informatics and techs 

 

If you help me to fund the amount that I signed up for, I can promise that I will do my best to train the future's pet epileptologists. I want to make sure that no one ever will have to face that much unnessecary deaths that I had to.
