Persyn Family: LA Flood Fundraiser

The Persyn family, David, Karina, and son have lost their house and a lifetime of belongings in the Louisiana Floods. The flood was caused by a 100-year storm of historic and unprecedented weather. The family literally ran for high ground without warning.
David Persyn, is a former United States Marine, Mississippi State Guard (MSSG) Chaplain, and current XO (Executive Officer) of the MSSG's Third Brigade. The Persyn is also a Chaplain for the Jefferson Parish Police Department.
This fund is to assist the Persyn's to get back on their feet and find temporary shelter so they can continue their service to their community.
In his spare time, Persyn conducts free counseling for the families of/and funeral services for United States Veterans and Police Officers. He does this on his own dime and his own time, traveling hundreds of miles, dress uniform and bible in tow, across three southern states - with no reimbursement.
His wife Karina is a New Orleans Loyola University graduate, Cellist (cello found floating in flood waters in perfect condition), Piano, and Violin teacher enriching the cultural lives of local East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parish youth. Their son is a student.
The family was ill-advised against purchasing a flood policy when they moved to Louisiana three years ago, and their home-owners insurance will not cover the damage. Mrs. Persyn is now out of a job due to the flooding of the local Bass Pro Shop. Major Persyn is retired due to back injury.
Regardless of this disability, and living on limited funds due to disability, he continues a life of service on several levels.
This fund was created by me, a family friend, and is unaffiliated with any formal military or police organization.
