Stolen Trailer - Everything is Gone

Donation protected
Young family’s entire earthy possessions stolen, including their two kitties, in their completely rebuilt trailer in San Antonio.

Who are they? The Perkins family was living in Tennessee and needed to move to Oregon in order to begin a new career and set down roots for their new family. In order to facilitate this move, the couple purchased an old vintage travel trailer and completely gutted it and rebuild everything with their savings so that they could have a place to live until they could save up enough to buy a home.

What happened? On the way from Tennessee to California to visit family along the way, the wheel hub on the trailer exploded, leaving the couple stranded on the side of the freeway in San Antonio. The couple had no other choice but to leave the trailer and quickly go to the auto parts store to fix the issue. Within 20 minutes of leaving the trailer, it had been stolen and hauled away. The Perkins’ family spent the rest of the evening scouring the streets, filing police reports and calling every tow yard in town. The worst of it all was the fact that their 2 fur babies were left in the trailer and are still missing. Some of their belongings were found scattered and broken along the side of the freeway later that evening. The next morning, the Perkins’ received a call from the police informing them that the trailer was found about 20 miles from where they had left it and was waiting for them in an impound yard.

What happened to the trailer? Upon arriving to the impound yard, the couple’s hearts were shredded in two as they had to investigate the crumbles of what used to be their whole lives. Their hand built trailer was torn to shreds and is now nothing more than scrap metal.  Their 2 cats are no where to be seen.

How can you help? This couple has had their foreseeable future torn from them and needs the help of the community to help them re-build their lives. The family is now facing the devastating event of trying to clean up the mess that someone else has created out of their lives. They have no idea how they are going to be able to afford to get to Oregon to begin work yet alone pay for their immediate living needs. Help us to raise up this desperate family and show them there are good, caring people in the world.
