People's Vote March Sponsors

£3,392 of £1,700 goal

Raised by 129 people in 5 months
This is a central funding pool for people who want to go to the march but can't afford to.

If you can't go yourself but could pay for someone else to or if you have a little spare cash, please help us get as many people there as possible!

To give an idea of costs for a day return (prices as of 7 October):
Reading £20
Birmingham £32
Cardiff £62
Newcastle £98

Weekend trip from the continent:
Paris £200

Berkshire for Europe will manage this fund and allocate it on a first come, first served basis to allow as many people as possible to get to London.

If you know someone who needs help, please ask them to contact us through this GoFundMe page and tell us:
1) where they're traveling from and when
2) how many people are coming and whether they have railcards
3) where they would prefer to pick up the tickets

We will then email them back with details of where they can collect the tickets that we will buy for them.

Please make sure to check this page first to make sure there aren't already coaches organised from near you:  https://www.peoples-vote.uk/transport

In the unlikely situation that there is money left over, this will be shared with the national pro-EU groups to continue the fight against Brexit.

Just a note to say we are working with Get Me To the March, a small group who will be running on a larger scale for the march on 23 March what we did with this fundraiser for the October one. They will have their own fundraising page which I will post on here as soon as I have the details but if payments are made to this page, I will make sure they get to them.

Thank you all again for your generosity. Here's to stopping Brexit!

Heidi and Bruno wanted me to send this on to you all:

"Thank you so much for your generous support! My brother and I were delighted on Friday evening when we found out we'd be able to attend the march - we wouldn't have been there without your sponsorship. It meant a lot to us to be able to show our (and your) support for a People's Vote. The atmosphere in London was brilliant and really uplifting! It was amazing to hear 700,000 people attended - let's hope it made a difference!"

What a fantastic day yesterday was! With 700,000 marchers, you have helped enable the second largest march in UK history. Your generosity helped 54 people get to the march who would otherwise have been watching it on television.

Here are a couple of messages from the people you sponsored to travel yesterday:

"Now, more than ever, we will all be marching as the REAL WILL OF THE PEOPLE; REMAINERS, LEAVERS and the DOUBTFUL, will ALL be at The People's Vote march in London, to give the British and many EU nationals the last opportunity to vote and MAKE BRITAIN GREAT AGAIN! Thank you for making it possible for us to be there!"
Paul, Gibraltar

"Wow what a day!! The girls couldn't believe it. So much positive energy in the crowds. We have really enjoyed it. Thank you all so much. We couldn't have done it without you."
Sophia, Huddersfield

Your generosity has allowed 44 people so far to come to the march.

Gemma will be able to join us from Paris thanks to this fund. Here is her message:
"I’m originally from Northumberland but I’ve been living in the Paris area for a little over 5 years (3.5 years with a Frenchman). I’ve recently been made redundant from a job that relied heavily on UK imports and folded when the £ fell, causing price hikes. I’ve already spent hundreds of euros this month starting the French naturalisation process (something I never thought I’d have to do as a European) which is why I couldn’t afford my own transport to the march. I’m 27 years old and feel like my future, as well as everything I was once so proud of about being British, is being taken away from me. The march is so important to me because I’m sick of doing nothing and hoping for the best, this is the biggest disaster of our generation, fuelled by 17m out of 65m, with the rest of us being ignored. From a more personal perspective I’ve been feeling defeatist about the whole situation and surrounding myself with some militant remainers will give me the push I need to keep fighting! Thank you so much for making this possible for me."

Alex can now join us from Edinburgh:
"I've just returned Edinburgh from a protest tour of the EU by bicycle (fb.com/fomtour, fomtour.tumblr.com) and have managed to connect with people across the continent and campaign to stop Brexit once and for all. It has become clear that our best, or only, chance to alter the course of things is through a people's vote. With my funds entirely depleted on the trip I am so grateful to those who have sponsored me to travel to the march next week. I had previously decided not to go due to the prohibitive cost of public transport but now I can stand alongside many of the people I have met on the trip and help make our collective voice heard. Thanks so much!"
