WHO WE ARE: #ShowYourLove Organization (Show Your Love Organization Website)
#ShowYourLove is a campaign, founded by Montreal Pop artist Jey Flores , whose aim is to create initiatives to address and find solutions to issues within local communities, by integrating a very humanistic approach. We want to create an environment which is conducive to nurturing connections and relationships; a place to be treated with dignity and respect.
Our motto is to treat everyone as an equal in society, and to provide opportunity for better quality of life, in a genuine and uplifting setting. We want to integrate arts and culture into our programs to create liveliness, and to evoke an appreciation for life. We are hopeful in passing on our passion of genuinely caring about the well-being of others, to others through this campaign.

WHAT WE ARE CURRENTLY FUNDRAISING FOR:
Penny's Kitchen Services
The #PennysKitchen Campaign is an initative to feed and care for the homeless in Montreal. We have partnered with the Benedict Labre House (La Maison Benoît Labre) homeless shelter for this campaign.
COMPONENTS
CARE PACKS
We will be distributing care packs to those in need in different areas of Montreal. Each care pack will contain a healthy meal, hygiene pack and an invitation to Penny's Kitchen food service on May 26, 2016 at the Benedict Labre House (La Maison Benoît Labre)
PENNY'S KITCHEN SERVICE
Date: Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 8:00am - 4:45pm
Penny's Kitchen Service will take place in at the Benedict Labre House (La Maison Benoît Labre) in Montreal, where we will make a healthy and delicious meal for 3 services (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner). We will be filling the venue with beautiful artwork from local artists, and also have live entertainment by local musicians. Our guests will be served by a server (not like the typical cafeteria line up). We want to create a restaurant-like setting, and an atmosphere for the less fortunate where they can enjoy culture, sit back, relax and have a stress-free day. We want to treat them like an equal in society (with respect, and dignity) by providing them with the same amenities as anyone else in this setting.
OTHER AMENITIES PROVIDED:

- Barbers & Hair Stylists
- Internet Stations
- Clothing Station
- Sleeping / rest accomodations
- and more...
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- Donate Money, Services, Clothes, Hygiene Items, and more...
- Local artists can donate some of their work for the cause, and hang them up in the venue
- Volunteer (Care Pack distribution, wait staff at venue, barbers, hair stylists, musicians, massage therapy, fitness classes, and more...)
We would need your donations as soon as possible, as this will be an ongoing campaign from now until May 26, 2016.
HOW THE MONEY WILL BE USED:
The money will be used to buy socks, shoes, sleeping furniture (bunk beds, futons, sleeping bags, etc), food to give out for the care packs, and food for the food services, hygiene materials and anything that can make the Benedict Labre House a better place for those in need.
WHY THIS MEANS SO MUCH TO US:
The Penny's Kitchen Campaign was inspired by Jey's grandmother Rufina "Penny" Vergara. "My mom's side of the family came from a small town in the Philippines called San Jose, Batangas. There are a lot of homeless kids, and people in poverty in our neighbourhood over there, so my grandmother used to make food for them, feed them, and give them wash cloths to wash themselves. She was the most kind-hearted person I know, so this campaign is definitely inspired by her. May she Rest In Peace, and I know she would be happy that I'm passing her generosity on in our community" - Jey Flores
We are doing this for people in need, because we understand what it's like to be in very difficult situations. We plan on creating relationships with the people we help to get a better understanding of what they really need. Those in need will be forever thankful for your donations and the difference we will be making in their lives. We will be very thankful to all of you for your kindness, because being united makes us a better community. #ShowYourLove is based on love and unity, and treating everyone with respect and kindness.
